"I originally got into tattooing back in 2005-06
I got my first Job at McDonalds and saved up to by my first tattoo machine.
I was fortunate to land an apprenticeship in 2006 and about 2 years later i was out in the world tattooing. Tattooing was an outlet for me... i needed something to be passionate about... needed something to obsess over that wasn’t completely destructive at that moment in life.
Trash polka was always something that i gravitated towards since i first saw it in a magazine around 2010. It was super new and inspiring at the time. Still is inspiring. I obsessed over everything that was behind trash polka. Buenavista tattoo club in Germany is where it first came from... I've never wanted to copy the style but I definitely wanted to incorporate it into my work somehow. I've spent the last 4 years of my career utilizing everything I’ve learned over the years, trying to create a trash polka feel but at the same time having a personalized look.
Everything is about my family. When I’m not tattooing I’m spending time with my wife and my two girls ages 8 and 4. Trying to spend as much time with them as I can before they are too old and too cool to hang out with dad. They love art and have even shown an interest in tattooing so who knows where that will lead them in the future? They have tattooed on fake skin before so give it a few more years and maybe dad will be their first client."
